Hindsight is 20/20: Tarot Cards for Working Women in a Global Pandemic

Made in Collaboration with Allison Jauregi, 2021

The cards take two forms. The playing cards (approximately 3.75 by 5.75 inches) feature Allison's illustrations in black matte vinyl on copper sheets with trimmed corners.

burrough also fabricated a series of the twelve major arcana in etchings on 16 by 24 inch mirrored-copper plates. These etchings were made with a technique that combines laser etching, sandblasting, and polishing.

One set of playing cards is held in the Special Collections Library at NYU's Elmer Holmes Bobst Library following burrough's exhibition, Ceremonial Techne (2021). This work was made in the Machine Shop at UT Dallas in Richardson, Texas with assistance from Machinist Andrew Bittner. See more images on burrough's project page.
